The FCC’s Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) is a new federal government program committed to bringing connectivity to low-income Americans. To receive a free smartphone and monthly service, you must meet the income-based or program-based eligibility guidelines. The program is limited to one ACP benefit per household.
Qualifying households can get connected by answering a few questions and submitting your eligibility documents. Qualifying programs include National School Lunch Program, Federal Pell Grant, WIC, Medicaid / Medicare, SNAP / CalFresh, Federal Public Housing Assistance or Section 8, Supplemental Security Income (SSI), Veteran and Survivors Pension Benefit, Multiple, Tribal Assistance Programs, and more.
1. Visit your nearest SafetyNet Wireless store with documentation of your eligibility.
2. Spend 5-10 minutes working with a customer service agent who will enroll you in the Lifeline/ ACP Program.
3. Receive your FREE device with service the same day.
Smart phones & service are free through the Lifeline program and the ACP program. Through the ACP program, tablets are available with a one-time equipment fee of $20.
